BTC Breaking News:
World Famous Rock Star Signs On As Celebrity Judge for Great Lengths USA Challenge

Steven Tyler to Join the Panel of Judges for the 2nd Annual Great Lengths USA Challenge!

When it comes to rock and roll, it’s all about the music--and the hair—and that’s something that Aerosmith front man and songwriter Steven Tyler understands.  That’s why he’s a fan of the Great Lengths USA brand of hair extensions, and why he has signed on to serve as the celebrity judge for the second annual Great Lengths USA Challenge

Tyler, who, when he isn’t judging hairstyle photos also judges a little singing competition called American Idol, gave the Great Lengths team the green light on his participation late last night, says Brett Butcher, Great Length USA National Program Director.  “We’re thrilled,” notes Butcher, “because if you think about it, Steven has probably had more celebrity influence over hair in recent years than anyone since Jennifer Aniston.  He’s the reason we saw so much color in hair on the Fashion Week runways this season.  He’s the reason everyone’s wearing feathers!”  What’s more, adds Brett, “Steven understands the importance of hair and how it relates to image.  He has the means and the access to the very best of everything, and he chooses Great Lengths.”

The Great Lengths USA Challenge is a “before and after” imagery contest open to all Great Lengths USA Certified Stylists.  This year, stylists can compete in three categories: Fashionista (editorial/avant garde looks), Socialite (styles created for volume) and American Beauty (styles created for length).  Competitors have from now until November 30 to register and upload their images on www.greatlengthschallenge.com.  After the deadline, Tyler and his fellow judges—including our very own Mary Rector-Gable, Joel Warren of the Warren-Tricomi salons and celebrity stylist and salon owner Kim Vo—will select their three favorite looks from each category.  The nine semi-finalists will be tallied based on the judges’ scores, and then posted online for a public vote, which runs from December 15 to January 31.  From those votes, three finalists will be flown to Chicago for the 2012 BTC Stylist Choice Awards, where the grand prize winner will be presented with a check for $10,000 onstage.

“I hope everyone at BTC will log on and vote for their favorites” says Brett, “and also decide if Steven and the other judges made the right picks!”
