Zooey Deschanel's Ink Blot
Color Formula

By: Angie Sterkel
Our favorite “adorkable” superstar Zooey Deschanel shed her cute and quirky New Girl image in favor of mysterious sex appeal for the recent cover of Marie Claire. But even more intriguing than her amped-up look was her deep, dark, inky haircolor. Want to create the irresistible shade on your client? TIGI USA Technical Color Director Richy Kandasamy shares a quick how-to.
“To create her inky color is quite simple,” Richy says. He recommends mixing equal parts of TIGI Copyright Colour Creative 4\2 + 1\1 + TIGI Copyright Colour Activator 20-volume, using a mixing ratio of 1:1.5, and applying it to the base. Throughout the midlengths and ends, Richy says to use the same formula but change the mixing ratio to 1:2.
