P&G's Olympic-Inspired Hair How-To:
The Beach Volleyballer
When thinking about a monumentally inspirational event and the Olympics certainly tops the charts. And stylists from P&G got to experience that inspiration first hand. In a massive undertaking, almost as big as the games themselves, the company brought an international team of colorists and stylists to the London 2012 Olympics to provide makeovers on the athletes and their families—from hair services and skin treatments to grooming, color and even Olympic-themed manicures. The makeover team even created a few looks inspired by the sights, sounds, sports and spirit that only the Olympics can offer. Here’s their “Beach Volleyball”-inspired style!
The Look: Beach Volleyball
Creator: Rebecca Lee | Dale James Hair & Beauty | Perth, Australia
What it is: “Fresh from the beach” was the inspiration behind this look. It’s carefree, sporty, beach-hair with a modern sophistication—great for any occasion.
Step 1: Start with a clean hair, freshly washed using Wella Professionals SP After Sun Shampoo and Conditioner.
Step 2: Spray the hair using Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz and then blast dry to give the hair a raw, sea salt texture.
Step 3: Divide hair into sections, gather sections of about four to five centimeters and start wrapping each section from the mid-length downwards around medium size curling tongs. Once you have finished lightly spray the curls with Wella Professionals Stay Styled Hairspray. Then separate the curls with your fingers to give that loose soft beach waves.
Step 4: For best results use a few drops of Wella Professionals SP Exquisite Gloss serum for exceptional shine, and finish the look with a spray of Wella Professionals Stay Styled Hairspray.
