Gel Couture: How to Treat Your Clients’ Nails to a Haute Year
It’s a new year, and you know what that means…she’s ready for a fun, new nail color, and she needs it to last. The new gel couture line from the house of essie promises 14 days of wear and features 42 brand new shades for every occasion. BTC got the how-to for providing long-lasting nail color with the fun, flirty new collection.
1. Every good mani starts with cuticle care, because just like eyebrows frame the face, cuticles frame the nails! Start with essie’s new apricot cuticle peel to gently and effortlessly remove dead skin. Then, apply the newly reformulated apricot cuticle oil to rehydrate the nail.
2. Next, apply the polish. Place the brush as close to the client’s cuticle as possible without touching. Thanks to the new gel couture brush’s tapered cut and high bristle count, you can draw the brush from the cuticle to the free edge with one, long, straight stroke and cover the nail bed completely.
essie’s gel couture bottle is equal parts pretty and functional.
Inspired by a twirling dress, the bottle fits perfectly into the palm
of the hand, making application a breeze.
3. Wait about a minute after the first coat and reapply. It’s important to allow polish to dry between coats so that it fully adheres to the nail.
4. Finish with essie gel couture top coat, which is specifically designed to produce gel-like shine and prevent chipping. Let the top coat dry for 5 to 7 minutes.
essie’s new gel couture features four collections: atelier, first look, fashion show and after party. They range from soft neutrals to ultra-feminine pastels to boundary-pushing brights to dark and dramatic shades.
