Hello Everyone—

Never a dull moment in this business, right? Our news department was buzzing this week, when we received not one, but two breaking news bulletins. First the report that TIGI’s Mascolo brothers (Bruno, Anthony and Guy) announced a partnership with Unilever, one of the world’s largest consumer goods company. According to the announcement, Unilver will acquire the global TIGI professional hair product business and its supporting advanced education academies. A day later, we learned that Regis Corporation announced the signing of a definitive agreement to sell its Trade Secret retail product division. Trade Secret was forecasted to have operating losses of over $23 million in fiscal 2009 according to Paul D. Finkelstein, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. What does all of this mean in the “big picture?” Stay tuned for some exclusive, upcoming interviews. In the meantime, check out the initial reports.
