One of the elements of the client consultation at the Hair
by Bennie & Friends Salon in Louisville,
KY is the full body assessment. Clients are asked to
stand, facing the mirror, behind the chair. The stylist explains,
“I am having you stand up so I can take a look at the
whole you and design accordingly.” The designers assess
the client’s side, profile and back, which, they believe,
offer a broader perspective of the individual’s overall
style—far beyond what can be observed when the client
is seated and draped.
