Take
a Picture
Hairstyling is a “high-touch” biz, but many stylists
are going “high tech.” BTC Member Philip Anthony
DiCostanzo of Franklin Philip Salon in
Norwalk, CT, for example, archives his work with
digital images. After asking the client’s permission, he photographs
as many of his cuts as possible from the front, back and sides,
positioning the hair to cover the client’s face. These snaps
go into his portfolio, and he also offers to email them to the customer.
“I show them the pics immediately on my digital camera,”
he says. If the client posts her portrait on her Facebook page,
he asks her to include a salon “credit” for the new
‘do.
