Dear Darcy: Three of the stylists in my salon have formed a “mean girls” clique. —Bullied
Dear Bullied: Sadly, it’s usually the weak who are bullied, says salon owner and management expert Adam Broderick, so that is why every business needs strong leadership. “Schedule one-on-one meetings with everyone on the staff to clearly review your expectations of professional relationships within a working environment,” Adam suggests. If that doesn’t work, “start looking for new team members and move the old clique out of your business on a timeline you can live with. Also, use this lesson to learn from your mistakes and consider getting some leadership training!”
