I worked at JCP for short time while looking for another salon. Educational benefits were lame, medical etc was available but expensive, nearly impossible to make any money at their salon at Bellevue Square.

short time is probably why if you work any where short time, without a clientele, you are looking for clients no one can start any where with full clientele takes alot of hard work and time. If you move around alot client don't always follow. Try getting health insurance any where for 90.00 monthly with co-pay and let us all know where.

I worked at JC Penney for a year, which was far too long for a dumpy salon. I currently work at a high-end salon that pays ALL the insurance premium for medical, dental, and vision. We also have a 401K. A very high-traffic area, it took little time to build clientele. Have only been doing hair for 6 years, made over $60K last year.

Well good for you stay there because there is very few salons like the one you found, especially that want beginner stylist. But happy you are doing good. But please be adult about things and don't down grade other salons. But you will learn with time it may cost you but you will learn. OH yes by the way in the JCP Salon where I am we had 1 stylist that has been here 1 year and done over 80,000.00 in 2008, so not sure this is a dumpy place. 5 stylist made over 50,000.00 also service only. But good luck to you.
