i would go to the larger town where there is more potential for growth. you said you have pretty much tapped the market where you are, so there isn't much chance of building any more at that salon. yes it means starting over, but you could build into much more in a short amount of time if the place you choose has good flow of clients. that's my opinion.good luck!

I dont think looking a lil further away will hurt if your doing what you love it will work out and you wont see going to work as a drag or wasted time in your life because your clients coworkers and better income will make up for it. Unfortunatly with change comes sacrifice but it seems like you have a strong work ethic which will only help you build your clientelle quick, and if your current clients value quality they will follow trust me I've had clients travel 2 hours to come see me, as long as you take care of them and there hair needs and your provide quality customer service you'll have faithful clients.
