Does anyone know of a salon that used the condensed hair cutting technique in the southern california region. You would not believe how difficult it is to find this.

I am curious as to what this technique is. I've never heard it. I'm in N.W Ohio.

ITs been awhile since I have been on this site. Condensed cutting is a technique that is used by few(I have found) but is very effective in layering and keeping body as well as achieving close to perfect balance. when my hair was cut with this technique my hair layed perfect...and only took 10 minutes to fix.....and people all over commented on how great my hair looked. I am told my my hairdresser up in canada that he learned it from ABBA hair school/studios. since I am not a hair dresser I cannot describe this technique. I'm still in search for a hairdresser down here.

Took an ABBA cutting class years ago......it goes like this. Section the head into 4 quadrants. Start in the back left quad. comb ALL the hair in the quadrant to the center of the section vertically, over direct it all to the center of the right front quadrant with finger vertical cut on the vertical. Do the same with the back right quad over directed to the front left quad. Do the same with the front....over direct the section to the opposite back quad. After you are finished clean up the perimiter....They say you should be able to cut the entire head with seven cuts! Have to have long shears!!! Results are great.

this sounds great but im am a bit confused with the technique, do you cut the hair in the left quad after it has been moved to the centre of the left quad or do you move the whole of the left quad over to the right quad and cut, i think it must be the 1st one or you would have too much hair to cut at once please explain it to me again as i am a bit thick thanx

Do a seach on volumetric concave, volumtric convex, geometric concave, and volumetric convex. You can also try trimetric projection, Phillip Palusi, and Allan Benfield Bush.

I thought a condensed hair cut would be for example the original shag where you would pull all the hair up in a pony tail and cut it off in one movement. Then you'd have instant layers? No?
