Best Off-Set

That's tough. I would recommend the following;

True Off-set: Fromm's Discovery Shear usually about $230 but I found it for $226.19 on www.mysalonstore.com

Crane Handle (This is pound for pound better than off-set because you can let your arm rest down while cutting. With off-set you still have the chicken wing with your elbow in the air.) Fromm's Flex Heaven Shear usually about $500 but includes Smart Steel and guaranteed to stay sharp for two years or a million cuts. I found it on www.MySalonStore.com for $389.99 WOW! They also have a bunch of other offset and crane, swivel thumb, ergo bent thumb ring etc. shears for great prices!

It can be very dizzying with all the terms, ergo thumb ring, swivel thumb, off-set, semi-offset, semi-straight, straight, hollow ground, convex. Shears are almost more complex than colors and tints. LOL

I have the 411 on shears so if you have questions let me know.

"So long and thanks for all the fish"

FROMM! You can't be serious. That's like the your auto mechanic buying his/her tools in the hardware isle of your local grocery store.

I have the Fromm Heavenly's as well. I got mine for $310 apiece at texasbeautysupply.com. (I bought 2 so they gave me a 10 or 15 percent discount (I can't remember). Great shears.

If you want to have best shear I can advice ZZZRT Polish J2 New Professional Razor Edge Titanium Shear . It is one of the best product for 5.5 inches . Altough it is small , it has great power . these hair cutting shears created form Japanese stainless steel are just as sharp as ever. Silver with engraved handles and red accents, these would look perfect on a styling vanity, especially for the female home stylist.
