SALON LOGO
Posted: Tuesday, May 09, 2006 8:08:30 AM
Any body out there know how to find a good logo for their salon..want to put it on my business cards, and on my front window, and possibly the sign for the salon as well...the logo websites i have visited want $300 and up to just design and send the disk to me...seems a tad steep, so thought i would ask here...will post on the salon owners thread as well..

I hired a graphic designer to come up with mine -- he did a great job and came up with three for me to choose from. I paid $500 for the logo, and another $500 to have him lay out my business card and my menu of services. It is all in a digital format and ready for print.

To me, it was worth every cent. It looks clean and professional, just the image I want to project for my business.

I think when we look at other trades, such as graphic design, we should remember that their education, training, equipment, and supplies are costly, just as our own are, and they deserve a fair compensation, just as we do. JMHO.

I can't agree with you more pink. If you want to cut corners it will show. Like stylist, graphic designers are also under appreciated. Keep in mind what Pink said.

I would do your name in simple print or your signature, like real fancily written.

I love the choice, I have a few Ideas and i'll send them your way to see what you think.

(all I ask is credit.)

What are you looking for thou, Fancy(grahm webb), efficent (redken for men), Flashy (tigi)?

What I think of is vintage (american crew)

edit(forgot to e-mail it to my work, give me one more day)

Am wanting something sophisticated....the name The Center of Attention really does not let people know that it is a salon, so trying to decide if i want to add Salon to the name....

don't want anything with sizzors or blow dryers or the same old same ole......just something awesome!!

Margaret, when you have your business cards made, they will normally have a design staff that will help you design a logo for a small charge.

I believe the name of any business should reflect what that business does. It is true that you can name your business anything you wish, as long as you have the money to build the kind of advertizing that will make everyone aware of what your business does. "McDonalds" is a good example, but, they spent and still spend millions of dollars on advertzing to promote their name and what they do. If you just drove down the street and see a building with "McDonalds" on it, how would you know what this business did. I like the name you have picked, perhaps you could build your logo to read for example,

"The Center of Attention"
SALON & DAY SPA

Just an idea, I know you will do alright.
